Nicki Minaj’s older brother Jelani Maraj has been found guilty in his child rape trail. The verdict for Jelani Maraj came in Thursday in Long Island. Maraj was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Maraj faces 25 years to life in prison. His sentencing will be handed down on December 14th by the Nassau County D.A.
The child, who was 11 at the time of the crime, is the daughter of Maraj’s then-wife, making her Maraj’s stepdaughter. The girl is now 14 years old, she testified during the trial, as did her younger brother. Police said they found Maraj’s semen on the girl’s pajamas, but the defense claimed the girl and her mother planted the evidence.
Nicki Minaj never testified during the trial despite claims she would by her brother’s defense team that she would.
