Jay Z’s 4:44 Goes Platinum In A Matter Of Days Making Jay Z The Oldest Hip-Hop Artist To Ever Go Platinum

Jay Z’s latest offering 4:44 has been both a critical and commercial success reaching platinum status in just over a weekend’s time. Jay Z’s album was released on Friday July 3rd and he is seen taking a picture with a 4:44 platinum plaque with RIAA CEO Cary Sherman on July 5th. Jay Z continues to push Hip-Hop culture in many ways but what may go understated about this platinum success is the fact that Jay Z is the oldest Hip-Hop artist to reach that status. This will be Jay Z’s 17th platinum album all together.

Jay Z has proven once again that timeless Hip-Hop music can be received by the masses at any age. Congrats.
