Sunday July 22nd the life of 18-year-old Oakland, Calif. Nia Wilson came to a tragic end when 27-year-old John Lee Cowell stabbed her and her 26-year-old sister Letifah at a local train station.

At 18, Nia still had the bulk of her life ahead her and she had big plans — joining the Army or becoming a paramedic. Nia was also a rapper with material on YouTube for fans to share.

During a rally expressing outrage about the murder, Wilson’s sister Letifah played one of her sister’s songs in the streets as people danced and sang. Nia will be able to live through her music that she recorded before her untimely death.
