Cardi B Becomes The First Female Rapper 2 Have A Number 1 Song Since Lauryn Hill

Cardi B officially has the number 1 song in the country. Cardi B’s hit record “Bodak Yellow” is the first song by a female solo rap artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 19 years since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” hit number 1 back in November 1998.

Cardi’s record label Atlantic Record has thrown her a party to celebrate the occasion. As big of a star that Nicki Minaj is she doesn’t have a number 1 song on the Billboard charts.

Cardi takes to social media to thank everyone for the support and shows footage from her celebration party. Hip-Hop artist ranging from Missy Elliot to Pucha T are also congratulating Cardi on this accomplishment.
