During a recent livestream with Adin Ross, Drake took a moment to reflect on his musical journey, sharing thoughtful insights into the projects that mean the most to him—and offering a glimpse into what’s coming next.
When the conversation turned to favorite albums during a gambling session with Ross, Drake didn’t hesitate. He named Nothing Was the Same—his 2013 release that has become a cornerstone of his discography. The album’s success speaks for itself: it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, went six times platinum, and delivered hits like “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Worst Behavior.” Given its impact, it’s easy to see why it holds such a special place in his heart.
But his next choice came as a surprise.
Drake pointed to Honestly, Nevermind as another personal favorite, a pick that visibly caught Adin off guard. Yet, for Drake, the album’s underdog status is exactly what makes it so meaningful. “Nobody believed in it,” he said, a sentiment that clearly fuels his pride in the project.
He went on to explain his evolving perspective on his work, comparing each release to a new chapter in a book. “I don’t wanna downplay any album. Every album is just like turning the page,” he said. “It’s not gonna be what it was in Chapter II, you know? Maybe don’t think of it like that. Maybe think of it like…it’s not gonna be what it was like when you first met Harry Potter.”
Looking ahead, Drake didn’t just dwell on past achievements—he also teased what’s to come. With a confident grin, he revealed that he’s currently working on a new solo album. “Working on a new [solo] album right now… It slaps,” he told Adin, signaling that more music—and possibly more surprises—are on the horizon.
