Redman Has An Extensive Filmography
Most people are familiar with Redman because of his classic works as a rap artist. But the one-time Wu-Tang Clan member also had an extensive film career. He and Method Man appeared in the 2001 film How High? In the film, the iconic duo discover a special strain of marijuana that ultimately gets them accepted into Harvard University. Redman has also appeared in several other films including Scary Movie 3, Bride of Chucky, and Seed of Chucky.
Redman Practiced Celibacy For Two Years
Redman has a wife and five kids. So it may come as a shock for you to find out that the star practiced celibacy for two and a half years. After being a rap star for decades, the lifestyle which included expensive liquor and beautiful women had ultimately taken its toll on him. To the point that he needed a full reset.
“I actually fasted for two and a half years—no f**king, no smoking. It was the best thing I could have done in my life,” he said. “It cleared out so much distraction. My reception is much clearer now. Having no sex is nothing to me now because it was all feeding the flesh.”
Rap Star’s Shocking ‘MTV Cribs’ Episode Was Real
Even if you are not a fan of Redman as an artist, he is one of the more relevant people in pop culture. And one of his most unforgettable moments was his appearance on MTV Cribs. Cribs was a show that gave celebs an opportunity to flaunt their wealth and luxurious lifestyles. However, Redman did the complete opposite. He exposed the gaudy lifestyle he was living in a Staten Island home where the doorbell barely worked. Initially, people thought that the Redman episode was satire, but he later revealed it was real.
“They show up f—ing early. I wanted to at least clean up a bit since I ain’t have any real furniture in there and s—, and I thought I had a little bit of time and I didn’t,” he said.
Redman Doesn’t Have Personal Relationship With Method Man
Method Man and Redman are one of those rap duos who will forever be linked with each other. The two have created several classic albums together. However, the hip-hop legends haven’t returned to the booth together in over 15 years. When they dropped the Blackout 2 album in 2009.
The duo’s absence from the studio, had many fans wondering if the two had a falling out. And while he didn’t exactly say their relationship is fractured, Redman says him a Method Man’s relationship isn’t the same anymore.
“We do shows and we come back home,” he explained during a recent interview on the Julian Dorey podcast.
“I don’t hang out with a lot of rappers at all. This is work, this is home. We’re very inclusive with our movement.”
