Ja-Rule has been doing what he can to clean up any mess the Fyre Festival left behind, but one woman who was financially burdened by the failed music festival is asking Ja to back up his apology with a large donation.
TMZ caught up with Maryann Rolle, a restaurant owner who’s featured in Netflix’s FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, and asked her how she felt about Ja Rule’s recent apology on Instagram. While she says she appreciates the apology, she also says she hopes Ja will “donate $100,000.”
“If he is sorry then he should be donating something to me because sorry is more than a word. It’s an action. So I hope he puts his sorry into action,” Rolle said while speaking to the celebrity news site.
According to Rolle, she spent $50,000 of her life savings to feed workers who helped build the festival on Great Exuma in the Bahamas. After launching a GoFundMe account, Rolle reportedly raised well over $150,000 but she claims that’s not enough.
Rolle claims that Rule may not have been totally aware of the heartache and other troubles she went through during the grueling process of tending to the unpaid workers. Rolle also requested that Rule donate at least $100,000 so that she can help pay workers who have yet to receive money for their work to build the festival from the sand up.
Ja Rule issued an apology to Rolle via Instagram saying, “My heart goes out to this lovely lady,” Rule said in his apology on Instagram. “MaryAnne Rolle we’ve never met but I’m devastated that something that was meant to be amazing, turn out to be such a disaster and hurt so many ppl… SORRY to anyone who has been negatively effected by the festival… Rule.”
