Jim Jones Defends Rappers Visiting The White House

In an interview with TMZ, the Dipset rapper shared that he supports rappers visiting the White House under the Trump administration.

“I’ma take it to the days where I knew the President is the President and we wasn’t allowed to get to the White House [or be] next to the White House. It used to be a great thing to do because you’re now talking to the President, or you’re performing for the President,” began the 48-year-old.

“The president still the president. It was a race. Somebody lost the race. Somebody won the race. What do they expect us to do? Disrespect the president because that person didn’t win? No, he’s still the president of the United States so we still have to show that much respect to the President of the United States. That’s how I feel about it. And, I’m not political and sh*t like that. I didn’t vote for anybody.”

Jones Would Accept Invite to Washington

Jim Jones said he too would make an appearance at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue if he was granted the chance.

“If I was to get an invitation no matter who was in the office, nine times out of 10, I think I [would] pop out to go to the White House,” he said. “I’m a kid from the projects that we known the president to be the ruler of the world … I want my chance to be at the White House too… Don’t crucify me for just giving you my honest opinion.”

Big Names in Hip-Hop Continue to Show Love for Trump

Last month, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, and Soulja Boy performed at the first-ever Crypto Ball that celebrated Donald Trump’s return to the White House. Nelly performed at Trump’s inauguration days later.

On Thursday, Boosie Badazz, Kodak Black, and Rod Wave attended Trump’s Black History Month celebration at the White House.
