June 27 Is A DJ Screw CLASSIC! H-Town Stand Up!

It’s that time of year again. Houston, Texas stand up! The whole South stand up! Fans of Southern Hip-Hop stand up! June 27 is an anthem and it’s only right on June 27th we celebrate it. We are working to make this day a holiday in Houston, Texas. The 35 minute freestyle was an instant DJ Screw classic the day it dropped back in 1996.

The track came together celebrating the birthday of Big DeMo at DJ Screw’s house. This was a freestyle session that was over Kriss Kross’s “Da Streets Ain’t Right” track from Kriss Kross’s “Young, Rich, & Dangerous” album. DJ Screw screwed and chopped the track and Big DeMo, Big Moe, Key-C, Yungstar, Big Pokey, Haircut Joe and Kay-Luv all spit their rhymes on the track. The result was a 35 minute recorded freestyle that has basically become a holiday in the city of Houston, Texas.
