Kanye West Sounds Off About Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Performance

Kanye West

Kendrick Lamar has once again garnered the interest of rap star Kanye West.

However, this time around, Ye is not taking shots at the Compton-born artist. In an unforeseen turn of events, Ye is actually showering Kendrick with praise.

Kanye West Praises Kendrick’s Halftime Show

For those who may be tardy to the party, Lamar was the halftime performer for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.

Although there were mixed reviews about Kendrick’s halftime performers, Kanye lauded the performance as one of the greatest of all time.

“A few people have been asking me what I think about the Kendrick halftime show. I really loved the show. It was my favorite halftime show since the Michael Jackson era, which I can barely remember, I just be seeing clips of it,” he said in a video posted online.

“It was super simple. The flag was fresh, the way they did ‘HUMBLE’ with the people’s heads moving. I was shaking. I was like, ‘This is super fresh.’ The man’s voice control, all that.”

Kendrick appears to have a gift when it comes to performing live. Between the Super Bowl performance of his and Kendrick and Friends concert last June it is clear that the man knows how to put on a show.

In a recent interview TDE artist SZA said he has even helped her with stage presence.

One time he gave me the pointer of pretending to watch myself from above,” she explained. “He sees himself while he’s performing. And that actually changed a lot for me. It’s weird ’cause when I was watching myself from afar, I was like, ‘This is not what I wanna see! I wanna see something different. I wanna turn up!”

SZA also added: “And then I just started invoking a completely different energy and spirit within myself. That third person – he’s also a Gemini. So you never know. He’s already split in half.”
