The Reign Ends: T.I. The King of The South Announces Final Album

The King of the South will seemingly abdicate his throne with the announcement on the We In Miami podcast on Monday, October 16th  that his next album will be his last. The double album entitled Kill the King and Kiss the King will culminate a legendary career that spans 11 studio albums, classic features, mixtapes, and lyrical defenses of his crown.

Bursting on the scene with 2001’s I’m Serious, T.I. aka TIP delivered lyrical ability backed by a regal bravado that won fans not only in his native Atlanta but across the globe. Credited as the creator of the genre ‘Trap Music” (for which he has an aptly named museum in Atlanta) the man known as Clifford Harris informed listeners on the podcast that “It’s time to evolve beyond a career as a rapper”.

Throughout the years we were given glimpses of this transition as T.I. began shifting more of his focus on entrepreneurial endeavors, his popular podcast “Expeditiously”, flims, and devoting time to his family.

If this is indeed the end of ‘The King’s” reign it will be bittersweet for a generation of hip-hop fans that watched him hold court.

Kill The King will be a proper sendoff.
