Tyler The Creator Explains Why He Thinks Doechii is An ‘Alien’

Rap star Tyler The Creator is one of the most outspoken artists today. So when he was recently interviewed by famed music journalist Narduwar, you know he had a lot to say. One of the topics that came up during Narduwar’s interview with Tyler The Creator was rising music star Doechii. She burst on the scene in 2024 with hits like Denial is a River and Catfish.

Tyler The Creator Praises Doechii

After a breakout year, Tyler had nothing but glowing things to say about Doechii.

“Genius, love her. That girl’s an alien. She’s an alien. I came across Doechii on something that YouTube recommended. It was the ‘Catfish’ record or ‘Nissan Altima.’ I was like, ‘What is this? Damn, this girl is pretty as hell.’ And I clicked it and I was blown away and I just kept going and kept going and kept going,” the one-time Odd Future member said.

“I was like ‘Oh my God!’ and then I DMd her and I was like, ‘N***a, I’m gonna need you in a few months!’ And then we linked and yeah, she’s incredible. I’m so happy that she [won a Grammy] and she’s in folks’ faces and we have just to keep supporting artists who care about things.”

After winning the Grammy for Rap Album of the Year in 2025, Doechii has garnered the attention of several artists. Fellow Grammy-winner Megan The Stallion says that Doechii is one artist she is looking forward to working with in the future.

“I love Doechii! I do wanna do a song with Doechii. That’s on my list. That’s on my album wishlist. But I have no song right now. But I feel like Doechii would be the type of person that you would have to be in the studio to make a song with,” she said.

“I would like to hear a beat that she would like to rap over. And also I’m challenging myself to rap over beats that I would not normally rap over without losing myself.”
