“My businesses, they help women,” he said in the clip, as he was walking through a street in Atlanta where his businesses are located.
“Esco, it’s mostly women that work there, the nail shop is all women,” he continued. “You know, for a girl that was working in there for me, with me…to go back in there and steal all the stuff out of there, the TVs, the sofas. I won’t be able to get it […] The girl went back in there and stole everything out of there.”
2 Chainz indicated that it happened some time ago but said he’s addressing the incident because it was “on [his] heart.”
Despite the theft, the rapper and entrepreneur made it clear he would not be taking legal action.
“I ain’t gon’ press charges. I ain’t gon’ do nothing. But I just want you to see this and feel this.”
He captioned the post, “No good deed goes unpunished. I’m not even mad, I know it’s hard out here … it’s the principle.”
Beyond music, 2 Chainz has quietly built a business empire in his hometown and beyond, which has grown considerably over the years. He owns multiple businesses, including Esco Restaurant & Tapas—which has several locations—and Pamper Nail Studio. His resume also includes luxury product lines and real estate, along with a minority stake in the College Park Skyhawks, an NBA G League team.
The Atlanta native recently dropped off his joint album, Life is Beautiful with Larry June and The Alchemist. He’s also reportedly in the works on a full-length prokject with Statik Selektah.
