2 Chainz is making big moves beyond the booth, bringing his storytelling skills to the screen with Red Clay, an upcoming short film he co-wrote with veteran actor Omar Epps. But true to form, the ATL legend isn’t showing up without a soundtrack — and this week, he dropped a brand-new track to set the tone.

“Sista Wives” pairs the Grammy-winning rapper with fellow ATLien Lil Yachty for a wild ride that wastes no time turning heads – or coming up with a chorus for that matter. Fueled by a chaotic, bass-heavy beat from Buddah Bless, the track sees both rappers letting loose with their signature flexes and punchlines, trading bars with swagger and chemistry.
The accompanying black-and-white music video, directed by Motion Family, turns the energy all the way up. Yachty kicks things off, rapping with razor-sharp delivery as his silhouette dances behind him, adding a hypnotic edge to the minimalist visuals. When 2 Chainz enters, the energy shifts — suddenly, there are multiple Chainz on screen, each vibing to the beat as he coolly dominates the verse.
The surprise drop is the latest teaser for Red Clay, which premiered May 3 at the Atlanta Film Festival. The film follows Nook, a teenager struggling through a rough upbringing, and draws on themes of survival, resilience, and community — all core to 2 Chainz’s message.
“I tell stories through my music, always hoping people feel empowered to overcome anything,” he shared. “Red Clay is an extension of that. Atlanta is full of resilience, and bringing Nook and Bub’s story to life — everyday folks fighting to survive — means everything to me. Creating this with Omar Epps was truly legendary.”
The soundtrack continues to build momentum, with 2 Chainz also teaming up with The Isley Brothers for “The ATL Experience,” a tribute to his East Atlanta roots that blends classic soul with modern grit.
With “Sista Wives” now in rotation, it’s clear that Red Clay isn’t just a film — it’s a full-circle creative statement from one of Atlanta’s most enduring voices.
