A Tribe Called Quest is one of the all-time great Hip-Hop acts no matter what way you slice it. Their impact on Hip-Hop culture and music in general is unquestionable. But not many groups can come back after not releasing an album in 18 years and hit their return album out of the park in the first try. Listening to the “We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service” you can tell that the group was fulling involved in the project as a collective including Phife. Many fans weren’t sure if we were going to get copy and pasted verses or older unused verses from Phife or not. Clearly we would have been okay with it either way but Tribe gave us the real. The song “Dis Generation” is a clear example of that. This song right here will make you miss Phife Dawg. Dis Generation gives us the rare opportunity to hear Q-Tip, Phife, Jarobi, & Busta Rhymes go back and forth on a single verse. For the task of taking on the visuals for this incredibly undertaking Tribe enlisted Tokyo born director Hiro Murai. Murai has many music videos under his belt but is best known for his directorial work on FX’s hit show “Atlanta”. Any Tribe fan would love this music video. Scratch that any MUSIC fan would love this music video.
