Apple announced on April 13th that Cardi’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, set a new Apple Music record for the most streamed album by a female artist in a single week. According to Apple’s numbers, Invasion of Privacy racked up more than 100 million streams worldwide smashing the previous record.
By mid-week the streams of Invasion of Privacy had already more than doubled those of Taylor Swift’s Reputation, which previously held the record; Reputation was not available for streaming until three weeks after its release. Currently, Cardi’s album holds the No. 5 spot on Apple Music’s worldwide chart of most streamed albums ever, leaping over Ed Sheeran’s Divide and The Weeknd’s Starboy. As if that wasn’t enough, her collaboration with Latin powerhouses Bad Bunny and J. Balvin, “I Like It,” is the No. 1 most streamed song off the album worldwide.
