Authorities in Georgia say they believe a body recovered from a pond is DJ Young Slade, the son of Lil Jon, who was reported missing earlier this week. According to police, Cherokee County Fire Department personnel located the body Friday morning during an ongoing search near the family’s estate in Milton.
Milton Police identified the individual as likely Nathan Murray Smith, though the Fulton County Medical Examiner is working to officially confirm the identity and determine the cause of death. Police stated there were no immediate indications of foul play, but emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.
Nathan Smith was reported missing on Tuesday after police said he left his home barefoot. Authorities noted at the time that he did not have his phone, may have been disoriented, and was believed to need assistance. Video from the scene showed divers searching the pond before ultimately recovering the body.
Earlier this week, a representative for Lil Jon issued a statement asking for privacy and prayers for the family. As officials continue their work, the community awaits final confirmation from the medical examiner.
