When Taylor Swift dropped The Life of a Showgirl on Friday (Oct. 3), fans were buzzing—but one reaction in particular had social media doing a double take. Midway through “Ruin the Friendship,” Swift sings, “And it was not an invitation / But as the 50 Cent song played / Should’ve kissed you anyway.” And yes, 50 Cent noticed.
“@taylorswift s–t is popping right now,” the Queens rap legend wrote on Instagram, sharing the album cover. “She shout me out. She don’t shout you out. LOL. THIS IS FOR BIG TIMERS ONLY!”
Fiddy didn’t stop there. Leaning into the playful energy, he declared himself a “low key Swiftie” in another post, captioning a meme of himself over the album art: “wait i’m the only shout out on the whole album.” Clearly, he’s loving his moment in the pop spotlight.
50 Cent isn’t alone in giving Taylor’s new LP love. Nicki Minaj, fresh off another viral run-in with Cardi B, took to X on Friday to gush over the album: “The writing is always so intentional & always resonates with the AUTHENTIC lone wolves. GO IN FOR THE KILL, TAYLOR.”
Speaking of Minaj, she recently reignited her long-running feud with Cardi B, dragging several other artists into the crossfire. Insults have flown, personal digs have been taken, and fans have speculated that things might even turn physical if tensions escalate.
But not everyone is here for the chaos. 50 Cent, ever the voice of reason (or at least caution), weighed in last week with a warning: “I hope the girls fighting before things escalated. I read some of the st they are saying to each other, and this is not gonna end well.”
Between Fiddy’s Swift praise and his concern over the Minaj-Carti drama, it’s clear that the Queens rap veteran is keeping a finger on both sides of the pop and hip-hop worlds. And honestly? Seeing 50 Cent fangirling over a shout-out while dropping unsolicited advice feels kind of on brand.
