50 Cent is unlikely to head towards any ballot boxes in the near future.
In a post on Instagram Wednesday, the rapper and business mogul responded to comments made by New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani during a recent Breakfast Club interview. Mamdani, known for his progressive platform, said Fif “would not be happy” with a proposal to raise taxes on New York’s wealthiest residents.
The Queens native didn’t take it lightly. “Where did he come from? Whose friend is this?” 50 wrote. “I’m not feeling this plan. No. I will give him $258,750 and a first-class one-way ticket away from NY. I’m telling Trump what he said too!”
Back in 2020, 50 Cent momentarily endorsed Donald Trump after learning about Biden’s proposed tax hikes—only to reverse course later, posting “F–k Donald Trump. I never liked him.” Still, he’s remained publicly critical of NYC leadership, most recently slamming Mayor Eric Adams over the city’s handling of immigration.
Whether he’s serious or trolling (or both), 50 Cent’s latest reaction fits neatly into his long-running brand of mixing money, memes, and side-eyes—with just enough ambiguity to keep everyone guessing (Recently, he opted to use his platform for good while defending fellow NYC rapper Fat Joe).
