Uncle Murda & Tony Yayo recently stopped by Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. And during their interview, one of the topics that came up was Fabolous & Lloyd Banks.
50 Cent Goes Scorched Earth on Fabolous & Lloyd Banks
Yayo & Murda debated the skillsets of both rappers, in addition to the impact that they have had on the hip-hop community at large. And while both rappers made interesting points, 50 Cent entered the chat and spoiled the entire party. Going scorched earth on both of the New York-based rappers.
“Fab vs. Banks [side-eye emoji],” The Power creator wrote as heard through 2Cool2Blog. “They both never put in no work themselves. They both are not likely to sell at this point in their career. IT’S A TIE, LADIES & GENTLEMEN [shrug emoji] they are the same.”
50 also further expounded on his point. Saying that the “both write better when about girls,” and that both emcees “think they are better than everybody.”
Why is 50 Cent beefing with Fabolous? In December, 50 Cent debuted Sean Combs: The Reckoning on Netflix. Following the release of the doc, the crew of Let’s Rap About It, a music podcast hosted by Dave East, Jim Jones, Maino, and Fabolous, discussed the ethics of the film. And whether it should be classified as a documentary or “mockumentary.
50 Cent and Lloyd Banks’ tension stems from business disagreements and miscommunication after years of being one of the top talents on the label. 50 Cent publicly criticized Banks as “lazy” in his 2020 book Hustle Harder Hustle Smarter. He said Banks lacked the drive to succeed alone and was content not reaching his full potential. Banks, however, felt pushed aside and unsupported during G-Unit’s later years.
Neither rapper has responded to 50 Cent at the time of writing.
