50 Cent is not one to miss out on the opportunity to troll. And he has a front row seat to the budding feud between rap artists Remy Ma and Rick Ross.
50 Cent Reacts to Rick Ross & Remy Ma’s Legal Dispute
Rozay hit the Conceited creator with a cease & desist for her upcoming movie, Biggest Boss. And 50 appeared to get a kick out of the entire situation.
“LOL what happened here HAHAHAHAAHHA LMAO,” he captioned a recent social media post. With an accompanying screenshot of a TMZ article that details the story.
Fans in the comments section of the post appeared to find the situation just as humorous.
“50 about to make sure this hits screens worldwide!” one user wrote on Instagram.
“Didn’t he steal someone’s name 😂 the nerve,” a second user added. While noting that Rozay’s stage name is derived from the famed drug lord “Freeway” Rick Ross.
“Now 50 gonna put it out,” a third user chimed in.
Rozay & Remy’s Dispute Explained
According to a recent report from TMZ, the Maybach Music Group founder filed a cease and desist against the Bronx artist. For “unauthorized use of his music and trade name,” as Ross often refers to himself as “The Biggest Boss.”
The outlet also believes that it could potentially be confusing to fans, especially because he has nothing to do with the movie in any capacity.
Ironically enough, the plot of the film also mirrors Ross’s career trajectory. It follows a police officer who steals a drug dealer’s life story. Eerily similar to Ross, a former corrections officer, who often portrays the lifestyle of a crime boss through his music.
However, a rep for Remy Ma says that it was never her intention to offend Ross.
“Remy was personally unaware of the concerns raised regarding ‘The Biggest Boss’ and takes the matter seriously,” the rep said in a statement to the outlet. “She has maintained a personal and professional relationship with Rick Ross for more than 20 years and would never intentionally engage in any action that could harm his brand or cause offense.”
The rep also says that the title has been removed from Remy Ma’s platform. However, 50 Cent has become a giant in the film industry. Could he be the one to help get the movie back on streaming?
