What should’ve been a victory lap for New York City— with 50 Cent locking down the rights to the legendary Paid in Full — quickly turned into another chapter in Dame Dash and Cam’ron’s long-running feud.
On Monday (Sept. 8), Fif announced that he now officially owns the rights to the Harlem cult classic Paid in Full — and he’s reviving it into a TV series. The mogul behind Power and BMF revealed the news on Instagram, letting fans know Cam’ron is stepping up as executive producer alongside him.
“I now have the rights to PAID IN FULL,” 50 posted. “I’m developing it into a premium TV show. If you like Godfather of Harlem, you’re gonna love this. Cam set to executive produce alongside me, if you want in get at him.”
But while fans celebrated, Dame Dash saw red. Instead of congratulating Cam, Dame jumped on IG with his own commentary — reigniting a feud with his former Roc-A-Fella affiliate that’s been simmering for years.
“Smh stay tuned. Damn… the real Rico @mr_camron. So this is what this is all about,” he wrote, before posting a video aimed directly at the Dipset general. “I wanna congratulate him for making 50 his new boss,” Dame said. “So congratulations, Cam. 50 is now your new boss, and you’re proud of it.”
Cam’ron didn’t waste time clapping back. Sliding into the comments, he fired off: “U really turned into a chatty patty damn..tagging me every post.” Then he twisted the knife with a Paid in Full reference: “N**** get cut out of tv series everyday B, u be ight… You only doing this for clicks, this the most action u got in ya Chanel EVER. You welcome.”
This isn’t the first time these two have gone at it. Dame Dash has spent months calling out Cam, accusing him of exploiting his financial struggles and even alleging that Cam tried to pay his son, Boogie, for an interview. Dame labeled it “a new level of low” and claimed Cam was too scared to face him directly. Cam, on the other hand, has leaned into trolling — keeping Dame’s name in the mix while Dame battles a mountain of debt tied to his recent bankruptcy filing.
Their history runs deep. Back in the Roc-A-Fella days, Dame and Cam were once aligned, with Paid in Full itself standing as proof of their Harlem-to-Hollywood vision. But years of money disputes, business breakups, and public shade turned their bond sour. Now, with 50 Cent stepping in and elevating Cam’s role in the Paid in Full legacy, Dame is once again left on the sidelines — and he clearly isn’t taking it well.
One thing’s for sure: Fif’s Paid in Full series is already messy before cameras even start rolling. And if Dame and Cam keep this up, the behind-the-scenes drama might end up more entertaining than the show itself.
