Tekashi 6ix9ine is not the type of person to forget negative comments against him. And during a recent stream, Tekashi fired back at Lil Durk over the jab he took at him on Drake’s 2020 song, Laugh Now, Cry Later.
6ix9ine Clowns Durk Over ‘Laugh Now, Cry Later’ Lyrics
On the song, Durk appears to clown Tekashi over his cooperation as the state’s informant in the 2019 trial of the Treyway blood gang. He talked to several of his former cohorts. And says that in light of his cooperation, he doesn’t want to hear any more of Tekashi’s music.
“I’m in the trenches, relax. Can you not play that lil’ boy in the club?
‘Cause we do not listen to rats,” he raps on the song.
However, in light of Durk’s current situation, Tekashi suggests that it’s he who is getting the last laugh.
“I’ve learned that everybody who talked s**t about me has an opinion until they’re in your situation. Pooh Shiesty is now in a situation. Gucci Mane is now in a situation. Lil Durk is now in a situation,” the rapper said via MyMixtapez on X.
He then goes on to reference the name of the track Laugh Now, Cry Later and says: “Who’s laughing now? You see how the same thing they threw at me laugh now, cry later … who’s facing murder for hire, the top charge in the feds? You see how God works?”

In October 2024, Lil Durk was swept up by the feds for his role in an alleged murder-for-hire. The feds allege that in response to the murder of King Von’s murder in November 2020 murder, Durk put a bounty on rival rapper Quando’s head.
They believe that Durk arranged for several members of his Only The Family (OTF) crew to fly from Los Angeles to Chicago. Looking to exact revenge. Feds also alleged that once the OTF crew landed, the rap star arranged for the crew members to stalk Rondo. And when Quando stopped at a gas station, the members opened fire — leaving Rondo’s cousin dead.
The trial was initially scheduled to begin this month, but has once again been delayed until May 2026.
