It’s no secret that rappers want to be athletes and athletes want to be rappers. So the marriage between Hip-Hop and basketball is seamless. From Hip-Hop artist being court side at big games to sometimes actually being an official team ambassador or having ownership in a team. You can’t talk about NBA on the court side without talking about Craig Sager and his court side interviews. Many times Sager’s court side interviews were as entertaining has the game itself.
In 2014 Sager was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Sager’s son Craig Jr. was a match for a bone marrow transplant and Sager underwent the treatment pushing his cancer into remission. In March of this year Sager announced that his leukemia had returned. Sager passed away on December 15, 2016 at age 65.
