Every time it seems the dust has settled in the ongoing beef between rap stars Drake and Kendrick Lamar, it gets reignited. And comedian Conan O’Brien is the culprit this time.
Drake Catches Stray at Oscar Awards
It happened at the 2025 Oscar Awards. Midway through the show, O’Brien left the room stunned.
“Well, we’re halfway through the show, which means it’s time for Kendrick Lamar to come out and call Drake a pedophile,” he joked.
He also threw shade at the Toronto artist and his ongoing legal dispute with Universal Music Group and their promotion of Kendrick’s diss Not Like Us.
“Don’t worry, I’m lawyered up,” O’Brien added.
So one of the writers of the award show revealed himself, noting how he was ultimately glad that his joke was approved. Because it won him $50.
“Wrote the Kendrick Lamar joke and bet our executive producer $50 that it would kill. Just made $50,” he said.
“Thank you to the academy and S&P for folding and not cutting this joke.”
Drizzy Attends the WWE Event in Toronto
It wasn’t all bad for Drake this weekend. On Saturday, March 1 he attended WWE’s premium live event, Elimination Chamber. And he attended with one of his few remaining industry friends, Lil Yachty. After attending the event in his hometown of Toronto Canada, WWE seems to have gained a new fan in Drizzy.
“I’m sold [Lil Yachty],” the artist captioned a recent Instagram post.
Drake and Yachty were not the only artists in attendance at Elimination Chamber. So was Travis Scott, who was actually a part of a segment. Where Travis and WWE Stars John Cena and Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson assault WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Wrestling has become just as popular among music stars as any of the other sports. With Drake having his hand in several other sports business endeavors it will be interesting to see if he adds WWE to his portfolio.
