On Saturday, he released a new song that seemingly features Sean “Diddy” Combs and his daughter North West.
The controversial rapper shared the more than four-minute-long song titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine” on his X account. “LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE new song by PUFF DADDY feat. His son KING COMBS my daughter NORTH WEST and new Yeezy artist from Chicago Jasmine William,” West wrote in the post.
The nearly five-minute song opens with what appears to be a phone conversation between Kanye and Diddy, who is currently incarcerated and facing multiple charges, including sex trafficking.
“I wanna just thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man,” the man believed to be Combs can be heard saying in the conversation. “Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call them.”
“Absolutely, I love you so much man,” West replies. “You raised me. Even when I ain’t know you, know what I’m saying?”
Elsewhere in the song, North appears to rap, “Doing everything I wanted, that’s the key to life / When you see me shining, then you see the light.”
West also shared now-deleted screenshots of a text conversation between himself and North’s mother, Kim Kardashian, who told West that she had trademarked their eldest child’s name in an attempt to stop the song from being released.
Sources familiar with the situation say Kardashian sent letters demanding a cease and desist and even went so far as to have an emergency mediation with a mediator and a judge, but the insiders said Kanye did not join. However, he did allegedly promise to not release the song.
Kardashian reportedly doesn’t want her daughter involved in Ye’s latest controversial moves, nor does she want North’s name tied to the disgraced music mogul’s legal problems.
