It has been nearly a year since Kendrick Lamar shook up the rap industry with the release of his hit song Not Like Us. Although he and Drake have appeared to move past their bitter rap feud, it is still having a lasting impact.

Young Thug Reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’

In the song, one of the people who Kendrick name-drops to get at Drake is rap star Young Thug. Lamar accuses Drake of using Atlanta artists such as Young Thug and Lil Baby to boost his career.

Thug was incarcerated at the time the song was released. He was let out on probation in October, way after the beef died. In a new interview, the YSL leader shrugged off being mentioned in the song. Noting that he is still a “Drake fan.”

Baka Responds to ‘Not Like Us’ Backlash

There were a lot of names dropped during the feud between Lamar and Drake. One of the most notable was Drake’s OVO associate Baka Not Nice.

In Kendrick’s 2024 smash hit Not Like Us, the hitmaker raps “Baka got a weird case why is he around.” The lyric references the OVO associate’s 2014 assault case, where he allegedly forced a woman into prostitution.

For the first time since Not Like Us dropped Baka broke his silence. In a new interview, he revealed that he stayed mum about the song because Drake asked him to.

“I was building up a lot of anger and stuff like that. But then I get this call, I don’t know why I got this call, it’s like God said something to him or something. But The Boy, it might not have even been a call. It might have been a text message. But he messages me,” he said during the April 7 episode of Hot Freestyle.

“He was like, ‘Yo, I know what you’re feeling, I know you as an individual. I know how you get down. But I’m just letting you know like, don’t listen to the noise, cos it’s noise. If you go back and look at all the people who are saying things or have anything to say. They’re not even real people; they’re like bots. Don’t let that s**t bother you, bro.’”
