May is Met Gala season. On the first Monday of the month, all of the top tastemakers gathered in New York City. To attend a star-studded fundraiser that will benefit the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). And although the event is used to prop up celebs, it actually backfired on rising artist Doechii.

Doechii Responds to Critics Over Met Gala Drama
The Grammy winner was captured on video, yelling and cursing boisterously at her glam team as she entered the event.
“Give me another umbrella, now. I need more f****g umbrellas!” she says in the video.
The clip of Doechii yelling went viral. And many of her fans were disappointed about how she was talking to her team.
The “Denial is a River” creator responded to her critics in a social media post on May 7.
“God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas☂️😂” she said in the video per The Shade Room.
The Met Gala is famous for featuring some of the most extravagant outfits that you will see. And the entrances are even wilder. For reference, Damson Idris pulled up in a racecar, and Andre 3000 showed up wearing a piano.
During Doechii’s entrance, her outfit was covered by a partition. Or at least it was supposed to be. But a wardrobe malfunction revealed her outfit before it was supposed to be seen by paparazzi.
However, in a separate post, she added how thankful she is to her team for their efforts.
“And all jokes aside, I’m so so so proud of my glam team and the LV team for an incredible night!” she said.
She then added, “Everyone killed it. We nailed the theme and a time was had.”
Doechii has quickly become a rising star in the music industry. She has earned co-signs from some of the top artists in the business. After winning a Grammy in 2025, it will be interesting to see when her next project comes.
