Irv Gotti and Ashanti were basically connected at the hip during Murder Inc.’s rise to the top in the early 2000s. Gotti passed away in March due to complications from a stroke. And following his passing, Ashanti has been one of the prominent voices to speak on his behalf.

Irv Gotti’s Brother Calls Out Ashanti
However, Irv’s brother, Chris, says he still has a bone to pick with the Glen Cove native regarding previous comments that Ashanti has made about Irv.
“I’m not gonna let no one talk about my brother gonna have a problem, simple and plain,” Chris said during a recent appearance on the Let’s Keep it 100 Podcast.
“Especially someone who made their career. Like, I was there. He made you sing records the way you sang them cause you would’ve never sung it that way if it was up to you.”
Despite their tightly-knit relationship, Irv and Ashanti fell out. The reason being that Irv began to tell people that he and Ashanti were a couple while she was signed to the label. Which Ashanti vehemently denied on several occasions.
But Chris says that is not the case. And takes issue with her denying what he knows to be factual information.
“She says they weren’t in a relationship. They were in a relationship. I was the therapist,” he said. “Like, come on now, don’t do that. But at the end of the day, that’s what makes what went on with them so real.”
Chris also added: “For her to act like it ain’t Murder Inc. that made her is f****** bulls*** or Irv made her. She had three deals before him. Like, something with y’all’s chemistry worked out! Respect it! That’s all. Not saying you have to talk about the n***a, but respect the magic that was made. That’s all I said.”
