Prosecutors: Diddy “Brutally” Beat Cassie After Learning of Affair
Opening statements for the trial began on Monday, May 12. And as promised, shocking details about the music mogul’s past are already being revealed. According to a report from HipHopDX, prosecutors revealed that Diddy “brutally” assaulted his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The incident occurred once she learned that she was having an affair with another man.
Furious, he set out to find her. He said he would kill the man,” prosecutor Emily Johnson said, according to the report.
Johnson also added that during the alleged assault, the music mogul was “kicking her in the back and flinging her around like a rag doll”.
In addition to the physical abuse, Diddy also threatened to exact revenge on Cassie with the use of revenge porn. Threatening to release exclusive footage that he had of Cassie having sex with male prostitutes.
Johnson affirmed that the Bad Boy Records founder kept the tapes as “souvenirs of the most humiliating nights of her life”.
Diddy’s lawyers have not denied that he abused Cassie during their relationship. But they are also saying that the abuse between him and his ex-girlfriend was mutual.
“[The defense team]is going to take the position there was mutual violence in their relationship… hitting, on both sides: DV (domestic violence),” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in court per TMZ.
He also added: “We are going to admit to domestic violence. But at what point does it become coercive?”
Judge Arun Subramanian, who is overseeing the case, then asked if Agnifilo was insinuating that Combs and Ventura’s relationship was “outright violent,” to which the attorney responded, “Right. We’re saying it’s relevant.”
