G Herbo Makes Strong Comments About Chicago Rappers
During a recent appearance on the Hazard Lights stream, Herbo said that his rap style is heavily influenced by New York City.
“That’s where I got my whole style from. I ain’t even gonna lie to you,” the “Swervo” creator said about New York.
He also took a shot at his fellow Chicago rappers, noting that many of the Chi-town artist who were out during his childhood, were lacking skills in the booth.
“N****s from Chicago don’t even know how to rap except for Bump Jay. That was the only n***a I grew up listening to that could rap is Bump Jay,” Herbo said.
“I’m not discrediting anybody you know what I’m saying? Of course, n****s grew up listening to Ye and Twista, but I’m talking more about people who were rapping about my lifestyle you feel me? And that s**t really comes from New York. My favorite rappers growing up were Wayne, Jadakiss, and Juelz.”
The Chicago Rap star is no stranger to controversy. During a recent episode of The Impact ATL, Herbo’s baby mother, Ari Fletcher expressed her frustration with him. Even going as far as to label him a bad father after not being present for their son Yosohn’s birthday party and graduation.
However, during a recent appearance on BET’s For The Fellas he responded to those comments. Herbo noted that it was just a moment of frustration for Fletcher and understood that she didn’t mean it.
“She doesn’t mean it at all,” G Herbo said. “It’s no way that you really feel like I’m a bad father. I’m too active in my kids’ lives. I feel like she was just probably frustrated.”
