Cardi B Says She Avoided Jail Time By Divorcing Offset
Offset hasn’t handled the divorce well. As he has gone to great lengths to disparage Cardi since her filing. But according to the “Invasion of Privacy” creator, a divorce was best decision for both of them. During a recent X Spaces, the rap star said if she and Offset had stayed together, it would have ended with her going to prison.
“I was going to end up going to jail, ‘cause I was going to end up killing them. Seriously, with my own bare hands. ‘Cause it was just getting so … it was just getting too much,” she said during a recent X Spaces.
Shortly after she filed for divorce, rumors began to swirl that Cardi was dating New England Patriots star, Stefon Diggs. However, they did not make their relationship official until June, when Cardi posted a steamy photo of her and her new beau on social media.
Cardi explained the reason why she kept she and Diggs’ relationship private for such a long time was because of the “trauma” she experienced during her marriage to the former Migos star.
“I went through a lot of f—ing trauma,” the rapper said. “And I had to learn myself. Before I even got with somebody, I had to learn myself. I had to come at peace with myself, and I had to shed a lot of f—ing tears so I could finally be like, ‘Yeah, I’m feeling good.’ And I’m sharing that.”
Offset has yet to respond to her latest comments. However, both stars do have new projects slated to come out later this year.
