Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National tour entered enemy territory on June 12. The Grammy winner performed in Toronto, Canada, the hometown of his longtime nemesis, Drake.
Many fans speculated what would happen when K. Dot took his tour north of the border. Especially after what happened at the Pusha T concert amid their beef in 2018.
Drake Says Cops Parked in Front of His Home Before Kendrick Show
Ahead of night one of Kendrick’s Toronto, show famed hip-hop blogger, DJ Akademiks revealed some interesting information. Akademiks says he spoke with Drake and implored him to attend the concert. However, the rap star responded by informing them that two cop cars had been parked in front of his Toronto mansion, in preparation for Kendrick’s arrival.
“I even told Drake I was coming to Toronto. Yo, me and Drake talked yesterday. You know what I told that n***a Drake? I said, ‘Drake if you like that, you see how Big Ak popped up at the show? N***a, you pop out at the show They in your city. Pop-out, n***a!'” Akademiks said.
“You know what he told me? He said, ‘Yo, Ak, they’ve had two cars on my block since two days ago. Since they know this n***a’s coming here.'”
During a different stream, the influencer detailed his experience at the Grand National tour show in Detroit. Akademiks said Kendrick Lamar’s close associate, Dave Free checked him about his Drake support during the feud. Even hinted at him being a paid supporter.
“What are you getting from this? Is Drake paying you?” Free allegedly asked the hip-hop influencer.
Akademiks went on to say that he was insulted by Free’s question, given his extensive resume.
“That was the most insulting thing,” Akademiks said.
“And I’ve had conversations with these men for a while. But the very idea that I was like a purchasable commodity was so disgusting. “
