Travis Scott may be known for being one of the more revered rap stars in the music industry. But the truth is that La Flame wears multiple hats. He has performed in WWE and has a highly successful sneaker deal with Nike.
Travis Scott Named First-Ever “Chief Visionary” For Oakley
For his next act, Travis wants to leave his stamp on the eyewear game. Oakley, the famed sunglasses brand recently inked the “Astroworld” creator to a deal with the company. And as part of that deal, Travis has been named the company’s first-ever, “Chief Visionary.”
Following the announcement, Travis detailed his excitement about working with the company. He also says that consumers can expect something that blends “legacy with future.”
“I’m inspired by what people think can’t be done. It’s about pushing culture and reworking ideas to see how far they can go,” Scott said in the statement via HipHopDX.
“Oakley’s design game is next level, and I had to be part of that. We’re building something that blends legacy with the future. This is just the beginning.”
Caio Amato, the eyewear icon’s Global President also added that Oakley’s new partnership with the rap star is a “bold new chapter for them.
What Travis’s new role as Chief Visionary will entail is still a mystery. However, Amato did say that the rap star’s new title will be one that “speaks to creativity, belief, and purpose.
“Today marks a bold new chapter in Oakley’s history as we proudly welcome Travis Scott as our Chief Visionary—a title that speaks to creativity, belief, and purpose, to forge something that’s not only different, it’s defining,” he added.
Travis Scott is the second rap star to ink a partnership with a major eyewear brand in 2025. In February, sunglasses giant, Ray Ban named A$AP Rocky their new creative director. It will be interesting to see what these two cook up in the future.
