Nicki Minaj has been on a warpath to eliminate anyone and everything associated with Jay-Z and Roc Nation. Despite working with her in the past, that also includes his wife Beyoncé.
Nicki Minaj Appears to Shade Beyoncé
Nicki Minaj appeared to shade Queen Bey in one of her now-infamous social media rants. Minaj reposted a video of a performance from her 2024 Gag City Tour with the comment “The bull I ride is not mechanical.”

This appeared to be directed toward Beyoncé, who often rode a mechanical bull as part of her 2024 Renaissance tour set.
After Nicki’s post, fans sounded off on social media.
“The bull Beyoncé rides is mechanical. The bull you ride is a registered sex offender. It’s a difference,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“The mechanical bull costs more than your NET WORTH,” another user added.
“The concept of shading someone whose tour they’re currently on is grossing more than our net worth,” another user added.
Nicki Minaj’s fans also chimed in and argued that it wasn’t shade but instead were lyrics from Minaj’s song Cowgirl.
But in light of recent events, it is more likely that she was throwing shade at Beyoncé.
Minaj did a stream on Stationhead earlier this month. And after playing two of her collaborations with Beyoncé during that stream, she had some interesting comments. Noting that just because she plays an artist’s music, that doesn’t necessarily mean she is on good terms with them.
“Any time I’m playing some music, it doesn’t mean that I rock with the person or whatever. Like, I want y’all to know this. I hate to have to say this,” she said during the stream.
She also added: “Listen … I’ve done some amazing work in my time … Sometimes Onika just wants to hear Onika. Do you feel me? Like I just might want to hear the Onika verse that was on a particular song.
That doesn’t mean I f*ck with nobody,” Y’all know who I f*ck with, y’all know who I don’t f*ck with … ‘Cause one thing about the Barbz, they are so on point.”
Beyonce and Jay-Z have yet to issue a response.
