It has been over two months since the verdict was handed down in the high-profile court case of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Thankfully for Diddy, he was able to evade the more serious charges of racketeering and trafficking. However, he was convicted of the prostitution charges. Judgment day still looms with the sentencing date set for October 3.
Diddy Denied Bail Again as Sentencing Date Looms
Combs has shown a tendency to get greedy throughout the legal process. Despite being denied bail on several occasions, his defense team continues to try to get him released. His most recent request was denied by Judge Arun Submaranian on August 4.
Per Variety, Judge Subramanian denied Combs’ request again. Citing that the music mogul failed “to satisfy his burden to demonstrate an entitlement to release.”
In addition, the Judge noted that Combs also failed to prove that he would not be a flight risk before his sentencing this fall.
“As for risk of flight or danger, Combs fails to meet his burden by clear and convincing evidence for the reasons set forth on the record at the July 2, 2025, hearing,” he added. “Increasing the amount of the bond or devising additional conditions doesn’t change the calculus given the circumstances and heavy burden of proof that Combs bears. … On this basis alone, Combs’s application is denied,” the letter reads.
Last week, Combs’ legal team filed a new motion regarding the verdict in the trial. They demanded that Diddy be acquitted on the prostitution charges or given an entirely new trial. The reason? They cited that the guilty verdict was a misapplication of the Mann Act. Noting that he did not participate, profit, or arrange the transportation of Cassie or Jane Doe during their “freak off” sessions.
However, Judge Subramanian hit back at those claims, adding that “the record here contains evidence of all three.”
Diddy’s team has also pushed for an earlier sentencing date. But for now it remains scheduled for October 3.
