Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have quickly become the new it couple. And now, the two love birds are officially hearing wedding bells. The pair took to social media on Tuesday (August 26) to announce that they are officially engaged.
Flava Flav Offers to Officiate Swift and Kelce’s Wedding
After the couple announced that they are tying the knot, congratulations began to pour in. Among them was rap legend Flava Flav. In a video shared exclusively by TMZ, he says that he predicted that the two of them would eventually get engaged.
“I want to congratulate my girl, Taylor Swift, on her engagement to my boy, Travis Kelce. Hey yo, check this out: I knew this was gonna happen,” he says in the video. “I could not wait for the day to happen, you know what I’m saying? Now my girl Taylor is engaged to my boy. I’m stoked!”
He also shared his excitement about the upcoming wedding ceremony. While also pitching himself to officiate the reading of their nuptials.
“So I can’t wait for the wedding. Not only that, but when y’all get married, let your boy Flavor Flav be the officiator,” he added. “ So I would love to officiate the wedding, you know what I’m saying? But most of all, congratulations, Taylor and Travis. May God bless you all with the longest, [most] prosperous marriage ever, you hear me? I’m happy for you both. King Swiftie is in the building, giving you all of my blessings. Taylor Swift, you got the gift.”
Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship in 2023. Since then, she has become a regular at Kansas City Chiefs Games. Many had even suspected that Kelce would propose to Swift at last year’s Super Bowl. But they got stomped out by the Philadelphia Eagles in a blowout loss. With the stage now set, many believe that Swift could be the Halftime Show performer for this year’s Big Game.
