Over the past couple of weeks, Young Thug has become a topic of discussion. A series of his recorded prison conversations has leaked, in which he aims several of his rap industry contemporaries.
One thing that has confused fans about the phone calls is who is leaking them. It went from a new phone call every couple of days to a leak every day, to seemingly leaking every few hours.
Benzino Accuses The Government of Leaking Young Thug’s Calls
Former Love & Hip-Hop star, Benzino, has his own theory about how the calls are being released. He says he believes that the U.S. government is behind the leaked calls.
“I guarantee the government’s leaking them, because they know what they’re doing,” Benzino says in a video posted to his social media account.
“What I’m more surprised at and more kind of pissed off at is, how the fuck is this even constitutional that a prison, which is part of the system, right? can leak private phone calls.”
Benzino goes on to add that Young Thug is not even doing anything illegal on the phone calls. Which makes them being leaked even more confusing.
“He’s not talking about no drug shit. Not talking about murdering anybody. He’s just talking about regular shit that everybody talks about,” he added.
“You mother*******s can’t wait to hear the next phone call. But then judge and criticize and condemn the mother fucker doing it.”
Benzino calls out the system for leaking Thug’s private jail calls, saying it’s unconstitutional and designed to bait him while on probation 👀 He believes the gov’t purposely leaked them without watermarks to sway public opinion.

Fans in the comments section of the post, however, had mixed reactions.
“Private? They’re not actually private; they explicitly inform you that these calls are being recorded,” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Educate yourself, the DA couldn’t break that man, so they’re gonna end his Rap Career,” another user added.
Thug has talked about just about everything in the recorded calls. From his issues with Gunna and Lil Durk, to his planning to start another family once he came home from prison. He has since addressed the leaked calls and expressed how he is ready to move on to the next chapter.
