Young Thug fans will have to wait just a little longer for his highly anticipated comeback. The Atlanta rapper announced his upcoming album UY SCUTI is getting pushed back a week—from Sept. 19 to Sept. 26.
Thugger broke the news himself in a late-night studio video with Southside, previewing a new track off the project. But fans are already speculating there’s more to the delay than just “finishing touches.”
ICYMI, Thug’s been on an apology run ever since those leaked prison calls surfaced last week. The calls had him airing out frustrations about some of his closest collaborators—including Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Mariah the Scientist, Future, and Drake to name a few. He’s since tried to patch things up, even dropping a seven-minute track, “Man I Miss My Dawgs,” that played like an open apology letter.
Now, with UY SCUTI expected to feature names like Future (confirmed on “Money On Money”) and rumored guests Mariah, Lil Gotit, and Ken Carson, fans can’t help but wonder if some of those strained relationships are slowing things down.
UY SCUTI will be Thug’s first full-length release since coming home from prison in 2024, with Metro Boomin, Wheezy, and Southside all tapped as producers. Thug has kept fans engaged with teasers over the past week, including one snippet where he slipped in his viral “whoopty doo” catchphrase.
For now, the countdown resets: Sept. 26 is the new date—but the question remains if the delay is about polishing the music or finalizing the features.
