Rap star Cardi B is preparing to release her sophomore album, Am I The Drama? And of course, with nearly eight years lapsing, she had a lot of topics that she will address on the upcoming project.
Cardi B Addresses Issues With Offset on New Album
One of the topics that the Bronx native will shine a light on in her upcoming project is her tumultuous marriage to rap star Offset. In one of the songs, titled Man of Your Word, she opens up about the ups and downs of their seven-year marriage.
“Seven years I admit it wasn’t all bad / Skeletons in my closet too / As a wife I should have realized when you were hurt / But instead I put my music first / But I really do wish you the best / Continue being a winner / If I had one wish, I wish you would have been a man of your word,” she raps.
Cardi dug deeper into where things stand between her and Offset. Amid their pending divorce, Cardi says that her only wish is for the former Migos star to be a “better person.”
“I just wish he were a better person, but it is what it is. Be a better person for your kids,” she said.
Cardi and Offset share three kids — Kulture, Wave, and Blossom. However, Cardi says she doubts that she and her soon-to-be ex-husband will be able to amicably co-parent. Because of the “hate” that he has in his heart.
“I think not right now, I don’t really have hate in my heart anymore. Think he has some type of hate in his heart. I don’t know how long that’s gonna take,” she added.
“We should be able to celebrate [our kids],” she added. “But it’s not about the kids. One thing I’m learning is that it’s not about the kids. So, what’s it about? “I don’t know.”
Earlier this month, a jury found Cardi B not liable, after a security guard accused her of assault. The award-winning rapper’s testimony went viral. In a candid conversation, she told Gayle King about testifying: “I said what I said for real, like, just don’t lie.”
