With Sean “Diddy” Combs set to be sentenced in October, Yung Miami submitted a character letter to Judge Arun Subramanian describing the Bad Boy Records founder as “loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging.”
In the letter, filed Sept. 22, Miami—born Caresha Brownlee—stressed that she cannot speak on events prior to meeting Combs, but shared her personal experiences from their four-year connection, including three years in a public relationship.
She credited Diddy with helping her grow professionally and personally, noting his encouragement, mentorship, and commitment to family. Miami recalled moments such as attending her first Met Gala with him, highlighting his role in opening doors for Black artists, and joining him in philanthropic efforts like feeding the homeless.
The City Girls rapper also referenced Diddy’s decision to seek anger management and therapy, emphasizing his efforts at personal growth. “In my personal experience, Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community,” she wrote, closing by describing him as “a good man” who “belongs at home” with his family.
Combs was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges in July but was convicted on two prostitution-related counts. His legal team has argued that a sentence of no more than 14 months would be appropriate.
