Being one of the most famous artists in the world has an upside and a downside. During a recent trip to New York City, Tyler, the Creator experienced the downside of fame.
In a video that began to circulate online on Monday (October 13), the rap artist gets into a heated altercation with a fan.
Tyler The Creator Gets Into Confrontation In NYC
The video appears to depict Tyler walking down the street of a New York City neighborhood at night, clearly wanting privacy.
However, a fan on the bike begins following and recording him. The rap star had security around him attempting to guard him from the fan. Another person also shone a flashlight in the fan’s direction so that they couldn’t record Tyler. But things quickly escalated after the fan yelled “suck my d**k” at one of Tyler’s people.
After that, Tyler approached the fan, clearly upset.
“I will pay for your lawsuit, bro,” he said. “I’m loaded, I’m with all that. Calm that down, be respectful. Because if I say go, he will go.”

Fans in the comments section appeared to agree with Tyler. The fan was doing too much.
“Y’all really can’t just respect people’s privacy and have to be weird like film your idols,” one fan wrote on Instagram.
“He was on some tough stalker ish. If somebody doesn’t wanna be recorded, respect their space. What’s so hard for y’all to understand? At the end of the day, he’s a person,” another person added.
“If you were a genuine Tyler fan, you know he doesn’t like people around him in the limelight and tries to protect them from all the hate the internet brings,” a third person said.
Other fans noted that the rap star also appeared to be on a date, and just didn’t want to be disturbed. While others added that the street he was on was public and the person had a right to be there.
Tyler, the Creator and his people have not yet responded to the video.
