R&B star D’Angelo’s shocking passing on October 14 has left the music industry. As one of the pioneers of the neo-soul genre, he was well-respected in the industry. So, obviously, tributes are continuing to pour in following his passing. The latest artist to pay homage to the fallen R&B sensation is rap artist Busta Rhymes.
Busta Rhymes Pay Homage to D’Angel With New Song
Busta dropped a new song on Tuesday (October 28) titled Magic, where he pays tribute to his late friend.
He raps:
“The s**t he did cut deep in the soul, hit the center of your core / Oh yes, we wanted more! Damn right, we wanted more! / We could not get enough of the god, damn, he was so charismatic / Every body of work he contributed to culture ended up being a classic / Type of s**t that made a n***a romantic together with his woman, climactic / Thank God He gave you to us as a gift that kept giving us this magic.”

D’Angelo passed away earlier this month after a long, private battle with cancer.
In an October 16 social media post, the singer’s daughter, Imani Archer, called her father’s passing an “immeasurable loss.”
“Dear Daddy. There are no words to describe this immeasurable loss. I’m in absolute disbelief and shock. You were my biggest hype man, my protector, my biggest musical inspiration, the kindest and most selfless man, and the best father anyone could’ve ever had,” she started the October 16 Instagram post. “No one will EVER measure up to how brave and strong you are. Till the very end, you made sure to protect me from anything that would scare or hurt me. I love you so much, Daddy. I wish I had more time to spend with you.”
