Most people know 50 Cent as a rap legend. But over the last several years, he has become a maven in the film industry. After the success of his hit STARZ show Power, he was able to create a series of spin-off dramas. Also known as the Power Universe.

‘Raising Kanan’ to End With Season 5

The Power Universe has many fans, and most agree that the best spinoff in the universe is Raising Kanan. A show that chronicles the upbringing of Kanan, the son of a kingpin and queen, played by 50 Cent.

But fans were shellshocked with disappointment on Wednesday (November 5), when the network dropped a teaser for the upcoming season. They revealed that Season 5 will be the final series for the hit program.

Check out the trailer below:

As a rapper turned producer, 50 Cent has employed many current artists in the Power Universe. Jeremih was a recurring character on Force. Method Man was a dirty lawyer in Power Book II: Ghost. And even Kendrick Lamar had a cameo on the original Power.

But perhaps the most notable rapper to enter the Power universe is Joey Badass. Who has gained notoriety for his role as “Unique” in 50 Raising Kanan.

Many fans had believed Unique to be dead after an incident, but got a pleasant surprise when he reemerged in the Season 3 finale. And he was an absolute menace in season four when he announced his return to the streets.

When talking about his role in Season 4 of the series, the rap artist talked about the process of “reimagining” his character.

“We’re used to seeing Unique in a certain light, and it was dope to be like, okay, let me reimagine this character a little bit. Let’s take the calm, charismatic, well-calculated fly dude, and let’s make him unhinged,” Badass said ahead of the Season 4 premiere.

“It felt different, but it was also very exciting. It was definitely a challenge that I was ready for.”

It will be interesting to see what is in store for the final season.
