Jada Pinkett-Smith Sued For $3 Million
According to a December 2 report from PEOPLE, the Set It Off star is being sued for $3 million. By a former family associate. Bilal Salaam, who at one point was a close friend of the Smith family, is now bringing legal action against them. After he claimed he was threatened by the matriarch of the Smith family.
Salaam claims that the incident happened during a birthday celebration for Will. At the Regency Calabasas Commons in September of 2021. Salaam says that Jada approached him in the lobby of the establishment. With “approximately seven members of her entourage” before the incident.
According to the report from PEOPLE, Salaam claims that Pinkett-Smith made a threat on his life. Noting that she “became verbally aggressive, and threatened” him by “stating that if he continued ‘telling her personal business,’ ” he would ‘end up missing or catch a bullet.’ “
Salaam also alleges that the incident did not end with their confrontation in the lobby. He also says that Jada and her posse continued to pursue him on foot and accosted him while he was on the way to his car to leave the event.
Even after the night of the confrontation, Salaam says he continued to be harassed by the Smith family. After Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock after making a joke about Jada during the Oscars, Salaam says that he was contacted by the Smiths to assist with “crisis management.”
After he declined to do so, people within the couple’s circle began to send him threatening messages as part of a “retaliatory campaign.”
