Lil Baby found himself at the center of online backlash after a photo surfaced showing him alongside controversial internet personality Andrew Tate during a recent trip to Dubai.
The image, which began circulating on social media over the weekend, shows the Atlanta rapper posing with Tate inside what appears to be a restaurant. It remains unclear whether the two were actually spending time together or simply crossed paths and snapped a quick photo. Regardless, the optics alone were enough to set timelines on fire.
Fans quickly questioned Baby’s apparent proximity to Tate, who has been accused of multiple acts of violence against women, especially given the rapper’s unresolved tension with former collaborator Gunna. The contrast sparked heated discourse, with many calling out the “Sum 2 Prove” rapper’s apparent hypocrisy.
Lil Baby celebrated his 31st birthday in Dubai earlier this month and was photographed at Ayla Beach Club and Restaurant on Dec. 6. He was wearing the same outfit in photos taken that day with fitness influencer Asal Nemati, adding credibility to the timeline.
Tate was also in Dubai around the same time, having traveled there ahead of a boxing match against Chase DeMoor, which took place on Dec. 20 and ended in a loss for Tate. While there’s no confirmation of any actual relationship or interaction beyond the photo, that hasn’t stopped the internet from drawing conclusions.
Lil Baby hasn’t addressed the situation publicly as of writing, but in hip-hop perception is everything. And clearly, this unexpected link-up has struck a nerve.
