President Donald Trump confirmed in a New York Times interview that music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs sent him a letter requesting a presidential pardon — but Trump said he is not considering granting the request.

According to the president, the letter from Diddy — who is serving a federal prison sentence — asked for clemency, but Trump made it clear he does not plan to intervene on the hip-hop figure’s behalf.

When a Times reporter pressed Trump on the idea of pardoning other high-profile figures, the president also ruled out clemency for Nicolás Maduro, Sen. Robert Menendez, and Sam Bankman-Fried, saying he has no intention of issuing pardons for them.

Asked about the possibility of a pardon for Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in the killing of George Floyd, Trump responded that he hasn’t been asked about it.

The remarks come amid ongoing public interest in presidential clemency decisions and the extensive use of pardon powers by Trump and past administrations.
