Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has found himself in hot water over the past years. For making a bevy of distasteful comments aimed at several different communities. Because of this, many of his longtime cohorts have since estranged themselves from the creator. However, one person who has remained by his side is actress Teyana Taylor.
Teyana Taylor Gets Honest About Relationship With Kanye
The Harlem Native was previously signed to Ye’s G.O.O.D. music label along with Big Sean and 2 Chainz. During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Taylor was asked about her current relationship with the Grammy winner. And while some of the things that West has previously said don’t necessarily align with her beliefs, she still refuses to abandon him.
“I don’t have to agree with everything that he does or says,” Taylor said of West. “But I’m not going to abandon him and be like, ‘Yeah, eff that mo********er.’ My brothers do things I don’t agree with…. I don’t engage in that.”
Many of the comments that Ye has made over the past year have been … bizarre. And that is putting it gently. But one of the quotes that really caused an uproar was the comments that he made about Jay-Z’s twins, Sir and Rumi. Amid one of his social media rants, he called the Carter twins “retarded,” amid speculation that they have special needs.
However, after receiving backlash, Ye expressed remorse for his comments.
“I LOVE JAY Z, AND I DO FEEL BAD,” he explained (Via HotNewHipHop). “I ALWAYS FELT LIKE THE BLACK SHEEP. LIKE I WANTED FAMILY IN THIS MUSIC SH*T. I’D RUN ON STAGES, THINKING I WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING AND WOULD ALWAYS BE A SLIGHT. HOV NOT COMING TO MY FIRST WEDDING, HIM PUTTING KENDRICK ON THE SUPERBOWL OVER ME OR EVEN US NEVER BEING INVITED TO SH*T.”
