50 Cent has remained in the headlines over the past few months. The rap star has engaged in countless social media feuds with the likes of Dame Dash, Jim Jones, and Fabolous.
50 Cent Responds to Fans’ Request for New Music
But fans have recently expressed their disappointment about the feuds not leading to any new music from the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ creator. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, 50 Cent hinted that he does have new music on the way.
“Look, I’m going to make music. I’m excited that this is the feeling,” he said (via Complex.)
However, he also says he believes that his best music is behind him. And that it is time for the younger artists to shine.
“The general consensus is they want to hear something new from me, right? You can have the best verse, but I don’t think you should have the best verse at 50 years old,” he added. I think hip-hop is connected to youth culture, and I think simplicity is a part of why it’s the best music.”
The rap star has also moved on to other endeavors. He has become a giant in the film industry. His hit STARZ series, Power has seen major success. So much success that he has been able to create multiple spinoffs with the network. Such as Raising Kanan, Power Book II: Ghost, and Force. There is also another rumored spinoff called Legacy starring Joesph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr. 50 also has a prequel called Origins releasing in the coming months. Needless to say music is no longer his main money maker.
