Met Gala Season is here! The entertainment industry’s top tastemakers are set to gather in New York City. To attend the star-studded fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
Beyoncé Set to Make Met Gala Return in 2026
This year’s Met Gala could be the biggest ever. As Beyoncé returns to the star-studded event. For the first time in a decade. She will also serve as a co-chairman along with former tennis star, Venus Williams, and Actress Nicole Kidman.
In February, the Met announced the theme for the event. And it’s par for the course for one of the biggest nights of the year for fashion. The theme will be “costume art” with the dress code being “fashion is art.”
In a statement from the Met, they said that the theme will highlight “the inherent relationship between clothing and the body.”
“Focusing primarily on Western art from prehistory to the present, the show will explore artistic representations of the dressed body, pairing fashions and artworks from the Museum’s vast collection to highlight the inherent relationship between clothing and the body,” they wrote in a November 2025 Instagram post.
“Costume Art” is the inaugural exhibition in a new, nearly 12,000-square-foot suite of galleries adjacent to the Great Hall, which will display the department’s annual spring show and mark a new chapter for the Museum.”
The Met Gala is on May 4, 2026. And with Beyoncé officially serving as co-chair, expect celebs to put on their best get-up.
